Crunchyroll released the trailer for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 on July 4, 2025, during Anime Expo in Los Angeles. The new season will premiere in January 2026 and will be available worldwide, except for most of Asia. However, India and the Indian subcontinent are included.
The anime is based on the manga by Kanehito Yamada and is produced by Studio Madhouse. Season 2 is directed by Tomoya Kitagawa, with Keiichiro Saito returning as the supervising director.
The team also includes Tomohiro Suzuki (series composition), Takasemaru and Keisuke Kojima (character design), and Evan Call as the composer.
Season 1 received wide praise and won several Crunchyroll Anime Awards, including Best Drama and Best Director.
The story follows Frieren, an immortal elf mage, as she looks back on her journey after defeating the Demon King. She explores the value of human life and memories with her former comrades.
Crunchyroll will simulcast the show at the same time it airs in Japan.
