Android Users Get Early Look at Apple Music’s iOS 26 Features

Apple Music is testing a new 5.0 beta version for Android users ahead of the iOS 26 release this fall. The update introduces several design changes and new features from the upcoming iOS version.

While the Android app does not get the full Liquid Glass redesign seen on iOS—such as the bottom bar and docked Now Playing controls—it does feature pill-shaped buttons replacing the older rounded rectangles.

These design updates affect controls like shuffle, repeat, autoplay, and the Play and Shuffle buttons in albums. However, homescreen widgets remain unchanged.

One major new feature is the ability to Pin Music to Your Library. Users can pin songs, albums, playlists, or artists to the top of their Library for quick access. These pins sync across Apple devices, though sometimes toggling a pin is needed for all to update.

Users can also long-press pinned items to unpin or customize tap actions like going to the album, playing, or shuffling. Pins can be set to download automatically, with the option to disable this in settings.

The update also highlights two other additions:

  • Lyrics Translation & Pronunciation: Helps users understand and sing along with lyrics in different languages.
  • Replay In-App: Lets users view month-by-month and year-end music listening stats directly within the app.

While not a full redesign, Apple Music 5.0 beta improves the Android experience by bringing key iOS 26 features closer to parity.
