Apple has officially launched the Apple TV app on Android phones. The app is free to download from Google Play and brings Apple TV+ streaming, movie rentals, and the MLS Season Pass to Android users worldwide.
For the first time, Android phone owners can access Apple’s exclusive shows and movies without needing an Apple device. This includes popular titles like Ted Lasso, Severance, The Morning Show, Killers of the Flower Moon, and more.
How to Get Apple TV on Android
To start watching, users can download the Apple TV app from Google Play and sign in with an Apple ID. New users can also sign up for a 7-day free trial directly within the app.
Apple has designed the Android version to follow Google’s Material Design principles, ensuring a smooth and native experience.
The app works on any device running Android 10 or later and supports both WiFi and cellular streaming. Users can also download content for offline viewing.
Syncing Across Devices
For those who use both Apple and Android devices, content will sync across platforms. This means you can start watching on an iPhone or Apple TV and continue on an Android phone.
Apple TV has been available on Android TV for a while, but this is the first time it is available on Android smartphones. The app is now rolling out globally as a free download.
