Carey’s hit has now led the Holiday 100 for an astonishing 61 weeks out of 69 total weeks since the chart began in 2011. For the week of November 22-28, the song recorded:
- 26.8 million streams (up 52%)
- 15.7 million airplay impressions (up 68%)
- 2,000 copies sold (up 25%)
These figures underline the enduring appeal of the song, which first debuted 30 years ago.
Reflecting on its success, Carey shared, “When I wrote [it], I had absolutely no idea the impact the song would eventually have worldwide.”
