Alibaba’s Quark AI Glasses Set to Challenge Meta and Xiaomi

Alibaba announced plans to launch Quark AI Glasses by the end of 2025 in China. These smart glasses are powered by Alibaba’s own AI models, including the Qwen large language model and the advanced AI assistant called Quark.

This marks Alibaba’s first move into the smart glasses market, aiming to compete with Meta’s smart glasses created in partnership with Ray-Ban, as well as Chinese rivals like Xiaomi, which recently released its own AI glasses.

The Quark AI Glasses will offer features such as hands-free calling, music streaming, real-time language translation, and meeting transcription. They also include a built-in camera.

Alibaba plans to integrate its wide range of services into the glasses. Users will be able to access navigation, pay using Alipay, and compare prices on Taobao, Alibaba’s popular e-commerce platform, all through the glasses.

While the company has not yet revealed the price or full technical details, the launch highlights Alibaba’s push into wearable computing, which many see as the next major step after smartphones.
