Alexander Skarsgård made a daring fashion statement at the photocall for his new film Pillion during the 21st Zurich Film Festival on October 1.
The 49-year-old actor wore a silk shirt from the Magliano Spring 2025 collection featuring provocative images, including dildos, lubricants, and a cracked cellphone. Skarsgård left a few buttons undone and paired the top with relaxed pinstripe trousers and black leather shoes.
The risqué outfit reflects the film’s themes. Pillion, directed by Harry Lighton, follows Colin (Harry Melling), a young gay man who enters a submissive relationship with Ray (Skarsgård), a biker gang member. Skarsgård said the film portrays sexual encounters realistically, emphasizing emotional and awkward moments rather than purely graphic scenes.
“I often find sex on screen quite boring,” Skarsgård told Variety. “During Colin’s birthday and that orgy scene, a lot happens emotionally. We wanted it to be clumsy and weird. Sex can be awkward and funny.”
Skarsgård has been known for bold fashion choices at past events, including glittering sequined pants at Cannes and thigh-high leather boots at another red carpet appearance.
A24 acquired U.S. distribution rights to Pillion in October 2024, though a release date has not been announced.
