A new software leak from Apple suggests that AirPods Pro 3 could be arriving soon. A code string found in a recent update refers to “AirPods Pro 2 or later,” replacing the previous mention of just “AirPods Pro 2nd Generation.”

The code was discovered by Aaron Perris, who shared it on X. This update indicates Apple is getting its software ready for the next generation of AirPods Pro.

While this doesn’t confirm an exact release date, it adds to growing expectations that AirPods Pro 3 will launch this fall, likely alongside the iPhone 17 lineup and Apple Watch Ultra 3.

Apple typically launches its new AirPods models in the fall, often during its annual iPhone event.

Expected features for AirPods Pro 3 include a new H3 chip, better noise cancellation, and other upgrades.

Though a surprise announcement at WWDC in June can’t be ruled out, most signs point to a September 2025 launch.
