In a recent YouTube interview on CGN’s channel, Kahi, the former leader of the popular K-pop group After School, opened up about the financial hardships she faced after leaving the group.

After School debuted in 2009, known for its unique “graduation” concept where members would leave and new ones would join over the years.

Kahi, who led the group, graduated in 2012 to pursue a solo career. She released an album under Pledis Entertainment before signing with Bonboo Entertainment, where she remained until 2020.

Despite her successful career, Kahi admitted that life after leaving After School was much harder than expected. She shared that, after her departure, she hit “rock bottom,” feeling financially and emotionally drained. She explained, “The company didn’t support me at all, and I really struggled to make ends meet.”

Kahi took solace in her religious life, which helped her overcome feelings of depression and loss. She now focuses on her family life and operates a dance academy, where she appears to have found happiness once again.

This revelation from Kahi surprises many fans, who were unaware of the struggles behind her public persona. Her openness about overcoming challenges reminds us that even those in the spotlight face their own battles, but with resilience, they can find joy and success in new chapters of life.
