Rapper A$AP Rocky has spoken out against Drake’s decision to file a lawsuit following the high-profile 2024 rap beef with Kendrick Lamar. In a new interview with ELLE, Rocky said he chose to stay out of the conflict because it was a personal battle between the two stars.
“The battle was between Kendrick and Drake, not Drake and everybody else who might have said something at that time, and that’s mainly why I fell back,” Rocky explained.
He also expressed frustration with Drake’s legal action, saying, “I just hate the way it’s turning out with [Drake] suing and all that. What part of the game is that? What type of sh*t is that? That’s none of my business, I guess.”
The feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake dominated headlines in 2024, with both rappers trading sharp diss tracks. Drake’s decision to pursue legal action afterward has sparked controversy, with many fans on social media calling it a “weak move” that breaks hip-hop tradition, where rivalries are usually settled through music rather than courts.
Rocky’s comments reflect a wider debate in the rap community about whether legal action belongs in musical disputes. By “falling back,” he signaled his intent to focus on his own career and avoid becoming part of the drama.
