“Soulm8te” is a new movie set to be released on January 2, 2026 as part of the “M3GAN” cinematic universe.
It is being developed by Atomic Monster and Blumhouse Productions, and will be directed by Kate Dolan.
However, in his attempt to create a truly sentient partner, he inadvertently turns the harmless “lovebot” into a deadly “soulmate.
The screenplay was written by Rafael Jordan, with a story by James Wan, Ingrid Bisu and Jordan. Wan and Jason Blum are producing the film, with Michael Clear and Judson Scott of Wan’s Atomic Monster banner serving as executive producers along with Ingrid Bisu.
Director Kate Dolan has stated that she views the film as “an exploration of relationships and loneliness” and how technological advances cannot escape certain enduring human truths.
