Xiaomi has released new open-style earbuds called the M2319E1s. These earbuds are different because they have a special feature to prevent sound from leaking out to others around you.
The M2319E1 earbuds emit “anti-crosstalk” sound waves outwards. This blocks conversations or audio you are listening to from being heard by people nearby. This solution is needed because open earbuds do not seal inside the ear like typical in-ear headphones.
Instead of being inserted into the ear canal, the Xiaomi earbuds hook over the outer ear. The earbud arms are made of nickel-titanium alloy that can bend and adjust to fit without breaking over time.
For audio quality, the earbuds use 10mm drivers and support high-quality Bluetooth codecs like AAC, SBC and LHDC. They are also rated IP54 for protection against dust and water splashes.
The M2319E1s have two microphones that aim to reduce background noise during calls. Battery life is rated up to 7.5 hours of music playback, or 38.5 hours with the charging case.
The earbuds are available now from importers like Banggood for $159.99, plus $1.30 shipping. However, buyers should note these are direct imports so getting warranty service may be difficult.
