BTS have made their long-awaited return to the stage, closing out a three-night sold-out run at Goyang Stadium in South Korea. The shows marked the beginning of their global ARIRANG World Tour and the group’s first major performances together since completing mandatory military service.
All three dates, held on April 9, 11 and 12, sold out quickly during the official fan club presale. Tens of thousands of ARMY fans packed the Goyang Sports Complex each night to welcome the group back.
The setlist mixed beloved classics including DNA, Fake Love, Fire, Mic Drop and Idol with live debuts of new material from their latest album. Tracks like Body to Body and Swim gave fans a first look at where BTS are heading next.
Standout moments included Jin’s playful handkiss to the crowd and emotional speeches from members reflecting on their time apart. The group spoke about what fan support meant to them during their hiatus and how much the reunion meant.
Despite the years away, the chemistry between all seven members looked as sharp as ever. The shows moved easily between high-energy performances and quieter, more personal moments with the crowd.
Celebrity guests including actor Im Si-wan and singer IU were also spotted backstage, adding to the celebratory atmosphere surrounding the event.
The tour now heads to Tokyo Dome from April 17, before moving on to North America, Latin America, Europe and beyond. Live streams will be available via Weverse, with select cinema viewings also planned for international fans.
For many ARMY, the Goyang finale felt like the start of something massive. As one fan put it online: “They made us wait, but they came back stronger than ever.”
