Apple is preparing to release a new iOS update as early as next week, according to a new report from MacRumours.
The update, iOS 26.4.1, was spotted on Apple’s internal testing servers last week and has already attracted a large number of visitors — a sign that a public release is close.
iOS 26.4.1 is expected to be a minor update, focused on patching security vulnerabilities, squashing known bugs, and making the overall iOS experience more stable.
The update comes shortly after Apple released iOS 26.4 at the end of March 2026, which brought eight new emojis, RCS messaging, stolen device protection, and more.
Security fixes are particularly important right now. Apple recently had to push an emergency hotfix for iOS 18 to tackle a dangerous piece of malware known as DarkSword, highlighting just how active threats against iPhones have become.
iOS 26.4.1 is expected to roll out to all devices that support iOS 26 — from the iPhone 11 all the way to the latest iPhone 17e.
There’s no exact release date yet, but if testing continues on schedule, the update could land within days.
