Daredevil: Born Again returns this March, and the war between Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) is heating up.
Season 1 ended with an uneasy truce. Fisk became Mayor, and Matt promised to back off. But both broke their promises. Fisk declared martial law, and Matt started building an army to fight him.
The Season 2 teaser hints that Jack Duquesne, aka the Swordsman (Tony Dalton), will join Matt’s side. Fans first met Duquesne in Hawkeye as Eleanor Bishop’s fiancé, but he’s secretly a master fencer.
In the trailer, Daredevil discovers Fisk’s secret prison, suggesting he’ll free Duquesne and other captives. The Swordsman will likely lend his skills to Matt’s fight against Fisk.
In the comics, Swordsman started as a villain but later became a hero. Daredevil’s version may stick to street-level battles rather than cosmic storylines, but he will still be a powerful ally.
Other heroes may return in Season 2. Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is back, Angela del Toro could become White Tiger, and there’s a chance for a Defenders-style reunion with Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
With Swordsman on his team, Matt may gain an edge against Fisk’s forces, who control Red Hook port and its resources. Season 2 promises higher stakes, more action, and moral dilemmas for the Man Without Fear.
