Xiaomi has paused all HyperOS updates as China prepares to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
According to reports, the company will slow down operations from February 17 until March 3. During this period, no new HyperOS updates will roll out, and work on internal test builds will also stop.
That means users should not expect new features, bug fixes, or progress reports over the next two weeks. Any updates currently reaching devices were reportedly completed weeks ago, before the holiday slowdown began.
The pause is linked to China’s Lunar New Year, the country’s biggest annual holiday. Many companies shut down for an extended period so employees can travel home and spend time with family.
This kind of break may seem long compared to New Year holidays in Europe or the US. But in China, it is common for businesses across industries to temporarily close.
Xiaomi is not alone. Other major smartphone brands like Oppo, Vivo, and OnePlus also slow development and pause non-essential work during the holiday.
Regular HyperOS update cycles are expected to resume in early March. Until then, Xiaomi users should not expect much activity.
