The Netflix Show Horror Fans Can’t Miss After Sinners

Midnight Mass

Fans of horror and deep storytelling have a new must-watch combo. Ryan Coogler’s Oscar-nominated movie Sinners has dominated awards season, and Mike Flanagan’s Netflix hit Midnight Mass might be the perfect follow-up for viewers craving more.

Sinners has earned praise for its unique take on vampirism, using it as a metaphor for cultural identity, assimilation, and loss. Its lead, Michael B. Jordan, delivers a standout performance, cementing the movie as one of 2025’s most talked-about releases.

Meanwhile, Flanagan’s Midnight Mass explores vampires in a very different but equally thoughtful way. The series examines religious extremism and humanity’s fear of death, using horror to dig into bigger questions about belief and belonging.

Interestingly, both works use vampires as complex symbols rather than simple villains. In Sinners, vampires gain equality but lose freedom, while in Midnight Mass, the infected sacrifice their humanity for immortality.

Flanagan himself praised Sinners, noting its vampires serve as a “metaphorical wrapper” for stories about identity and legacy. Fans of one story are likely to appreciate the other for its thematic depth and emotional weight.

While Sinners currently has no confirmed sequel, many hope it will continue, possibly exploring backstories or new characters. Similarly, Midnight Mass ends on a conclusive note but leaves room for potential spin-offs in its universe.

For anyone who loved Sinners or is fascinated by horror that tackles real-world issues, Midnight Mass is highly recommended. Both works prove that horror can do more than scare—it can make viewers think.
