Brandt Osborn Gets Probation for Role in Dumping Bodies of Two LA Models

Actor Brandt Osborn has been sentenced to two years of probation and 480 hours of community service for his role in the 2021 deaths of model Christy Giles and designer Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola. The sentence, issued on Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, allows Osborn to avoid jail time.

Osborn, 35, pleaded no contest to one felony count of being an accessory after the fact. Prosecutors said he helped move and abandon the women’s bodies but was not accused of giving them the drugs that caused their deaths.

The case began on 24 September 2021, when the two women were found unresponsive outside separate hospitals in Los Angeles. Giles, 24, was left at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and Cabrales-Arzola, 30, was left at Good Samaritan Medical Center hours later.

Prosecutors said the women had been at a party hosted by Hollywood producer David Brian Pearce, who allegedly drugged and assaulted them before they overdosed. Surveillance video showed Osborn and Pearce loading the women into a vehicle before abandoning them at the hospitals.

Pearce was convicted earlier this year of two counts of first-degree murder and multiple counts of sexual assault involving several victims. He was sentenced last month to 146 years to life in prison.

Osborn faced a mistrial in March after a jury could not reach a verdict on earlier charges. Prosecutors said his cooperation and lack of a prior criminal record influenced the decision to offer a reduced charge.

Families of both victims expressed disappointment with the sentence. Giles’ mother said the punishment was “a slap on the wrist,” while Cabrales-Arzola’s family said the outcome did not honor her memory.

The case has drawn attention to rising fentanyl-related deaths in California, where overdose fatalities have continued to increase in recent years.
