Nicole Kidman is said to be finding it difficult to cope privately following her recent divorce from country singer Keith Urban, according to a new report.
The Oscar-winning actress filed for divorce from Urban on September 30, ending nearly two decades of marriage. While she has continued to appear composed in public, a source told Star that Kidman has yet to fully process the emotional impact of the split.
“She’s been doing brilliantly and is a total pro throughout this,” the insider said. “But she’s struggling behind all the smiles. Keith was the love of her life, and you can’t just turn those feelings off like a tap.”
The source added that Kidman has been keeping herself busy with work commitments and social plans to distract from the pain. However, friends reportedly fear that the emotional strain may soon catch up with her. “She’s been operating on autopilot,” the insider noted. “The dam has to burst at some point soon, and it won’t be a pretty sight.”
Kidman and Urban, who share two daughters, have faced speculation about the state of their marriage for months before the official filing. Rumours of infidelity and growing distance between the two had circulated in the lead-up to their separation.
Despite the emotional toll, sources say Kidman remains focused on her family and her professional responsibilities. Those close to her describe her as “strong” but acknowledge that she is still navigating deep feelings of “resentment and heartache.”
