Pop singer Chappell Roan has shared why she decided to continue touring in 2025 after struggling with feelings of sadness and isolation last year. Speaking to fans at her final U.S. tour date on Saturday, October 11, at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, Roan described her emotional journey back to performing.

“I wasn’t gonna do a U.S. tour until the very last minute, I decided to do one, and I’m so glad I did. It’s so fun. This job is so awesome. Thank you for making it awesome,” she told the crowd, according to fan-captured footage.

Roan, 27, said that last year she questioned why she was performing at all. “I was really questioning, ‘Why am I doing this to myself? I’m so sad. I feel so left out in public. I feel so awkward all the time,’” she said. Performing again helped her realize the purpose behind her work.

“And then I started doing shows again, and it all made sense that it was to literally bring queer people joy and tell them that it’s okay,” she added. Roan emphasized the importance of joy, safety, and inclusivity for her audience. “The only thing that matters anymore is joy to me. And protecting that, and peace and safety.”

Roan’s 2025 tour, Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things, began in Europe on May 30 at the Warsaw Festival and included pop-up shows in New York, Los Angeles, and Kansas City. She thanked her fans for their support and highlighted the communal atmosphere at her performances.
