Taylor Swift’s Friends Knew About Life of a Showgirl Before Her Label

Taylor Swift revealed that her close friends heard her new album Life of a Showgirl long before her record label did. The singer, 35, praised her loyal circle for keeping her secrets, saying they “do not rat.”

During an upcoming appearance on BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show with Scott Mills, Swift explained that her friends had listened to the album a year ago and knew about her personal life. She said, “They know about my life. They know what’s going on. They do not snitch. It is phenomenal. I’ve got a really good circle of friends.”

Swift confirmed that Republic Records only learned about the album once it was fully finished, including the art and production. “We do a lot of things in-house, my team, so I think it’s easier for them when the label can really just focus on what they have to do in terms of distribution,” she said.

The pop superstar enjoys surprising fans and including Easter Eggs in her albums. She shared a recent fun discovery: lining up all the song titles from Life of a Showgirl forms the shape of her Eras Tour stage. “I was so pleased when they found that out,” she said.

Swift emphasized that her secrecy is part of the fun for fans and adds “a little extra layer of entertainment,” without making it mandatory for listeners to notice.

Life of a Showgirl was released on October 3, 2025, just weeks after Swift announced the album.
