Carlos Alcaraz Claims Sixth Grand Slam With US Open Victory

Carlos Alcaraz captured the 2025 US Open men’s singles title on Sunday, defeating Italy’s Jannik Sinner in four sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. The victory at New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium gives the 22-year-old Spaniard his second US Open crown and sixth Grand Slam title overall.

Alcaraz delivered a dominant performance, firing 10 aces, avoiding double faults, and hitting twice as many winners as his opponent. Although Sinner claimed the second set, Alcaraz quickly regained control and closed out the match with authority.

The win returns Alcaraz to the world No. 1 ranking, overtaking Sinner, and extends a growing rivalry between the two young stars. They have now faced each other in three Grand Slam finals this year, underscoring their status as the sport’s leading figures.

By securing his sixth major title at just 22, Alcaraz joins a select group of players to have won multiple Grand Slams on hard, clay, and grass courts before turning 23.

The final drew a packed crowd, including former US President Donald Trump. After lifting the trophy, Alcaraz praised Sinner’s achievements this season and thanked his team and supporters.

With this victory, Alcaraz strengthens his position at the top of men’s tennis and heads into the 2026 season as a strong favorite for the Australian Open.
