Disney Pushes for Original Films to Attract Gen Z Young Men

Disney executives are pushing Hollywood creators to develop new, original films designed to attract young men aged 13 to 28, a group often referred to as Gen Z.

The company is focusing on fresh intellectual property (IP) with stories and themes that resonate strongly with this key demographic.

Insiders say Disney is particularly interested in high-energy global adventures, treasure hunts, and other imaginative stories.

The company is also looking at seasonal films, including spooky titles for Halloween, aimed at becoming recurring entertainment for specific times of the year.

This initiative comes as Disney’s major franchises face challenges. The Star Wars franchise has struggled to launch new film projects, while superhero movies, once a reliable draw, are losing some of their appeal among audiences.

By investing in innovative ideas and new stories, Disney hopes to regain cultural relevance among young men, a demographic known for shaping trends and driving discussion in entertainment.
