Goodbye Hulu App: Disney+ to Host All Content in Major 2026 Overhaul

Hulu on Disney+

Disney has announced it will merge Hulu into the Disney+ app by March 2026. The standalone Hulu app will be discontinued, and all Hulu content—including TV shows, movies, and original series—will be fully available on the Disney+ platform.

For international users, the merger means Hulu will replace the “Star” tile on Disney+, marking the beginning of Hulu’s expansion as a global brand.

Disney says the move will simplify streaming for viewers by offering a single app for all content. The unified platform will include family-friendly Disney titles alongside more mature Hulu content like The Handmaid’s Tale and Only Murders in the Building.

The company hopes this change will improve the user experience by reducing the need for multiple apps and subscriptions. It also aims to strengthen Disney’s position in the competitive streaming space, where it faces rivals like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and HBO Max.

Disney has not yet shared pricing details or how the merger will affect existing Hulu subscribers. A gradual rollout is planned, with beta testing set to begin in late 2025.

With over 150 million Disney+ subscribers globally and 50 million Hulu users in the U.S., this will be one of the largest streaming service integrations in history.
