Dave, a 24-year-old accountant and the only person on Channel 4’s Virgin Island to lose his virginity during the show, has started a new relationship since filming ended.
The series followed 12 people aged 22 to 30 who had never had sex, sent to an island to explore intimacy. Dave slept with sex surrogate Kat during the final episode, a moment many viewers praised.
Kat said she felt “good about being the person with him at that important moment.”
Since the show, Dave has been in touch with the other participants through a group chat. Holly, another participant, has also lost her virginity since the show and had a boyfriend for a short time.
Dave met his current girlfriend on Hinge six months after the show finished. She watched the first four episodes but found it difficult to continue. Dave said to The Sun: “You don’t want to see your partner with someone else, even if it was a year ago.”
There was a viewing party for the final episodes of Virgin Island, but Dave’s girlfriend chose not to attend “for obvious reasons.”
She has seen how Dave was before they met and said it was “like watching a completely different person.” Dave told her about the show after five dates but didn’t share all the details right away.
As for the other cast members, Holly said being on the show helped her grow and become “a new, improved version” of herself.
