The Korean comedy thriller My Daughter Is A Zombie had the biggest opening day in South Korea this year. On July 30, the film attracted 430,000 viewers, beating Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning, which had 423,000 on its opening day.

The movie also set a new record for the highest opening day for a Korean comedy, surpassing Extreme Job (2019), which had 368,000 viewers.

My Daughter Is A Zombie tells the story of Jung-hwan, an animal trainer, and his daughter Lee Su A, who becomes infected by a zombie virus.

To protect her, Jung-hwan takes her to a quiet seaside village where they try to live in secret while society hunts the infected. Using his skills as an animal trainer, Jung-hwan tries to tame the zombie.

The film is based on a popular webtoon and stars well-known actors like Jo Jung-suk, Lee Jung-eun, and Cho Yeo-jeong.

With this strong start, the film is expected to have a very successful run at the box office.
