Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has revealed a bold new goal: giving everyone access to their own “personal superintelligence.” In a letter published on Meta’s blog and shared across social media, Zuckerberg said that powerful AI is now within reach — but Meta wants to use it to help people, not replace them.
“Our vision is to bring personal superintelligence to everyone,” he wrote. “This AI will help you achieve your goals, create what you want, explore new experiences, and become who you aspire to be.”
A New Path for AI
Zuckerberg stressed that Meta’s strategy is different from other tech companies that focus on automating jobs and giving people passive income. Instead, Meta believes in empowering individuals to do more and grow personally using AI.
“We believe progress comes from people chasing their own goals — not just living off the output of machines,” he said.
Smart Glasses at the Center
A key part of this future? AI-powered smart glasses. Zuckerberg said glasses that can see, hear, and interact with the world like humans will become our main computing devices. Meta already sells Ray-Ban smart glasses, and new versions with better features are on the way. The company has also partnered with Oakley to launch AI glasses for performance and sports.
“These glasses will understand our surroundings and help us throughout the day,” he added.
Safety First
Despite the excitement, Zuckerberg warned of real risks. He admitted that superintelligence raises new safety concerns and that Meta must move forward carefully and responsibly.
“We need to be rigorous in handling these risks,” he wrote, adding that the company would be cautious with open-sourcing powerful AI tools.
He also called the rest of this decade a critical time in shaping how AI will be used — either for personal growth or as a replacement for people.
