Adult Swim has revealed a new adult animated comedy series titled President Curtis, a spinoff set within the Rick and Morty universe. The show stars Emmy Award-winning actor Keith David, who returns as President Andre Curtis, a character he has voiced across multiple seasons of the original series.
The series will focus on President Curtis and his quirky team as they tackle crises that Rick Sanchez usually avoids — including interdimensional diplomacy, paranormal investigations, and other unexplained phenomena.
Co-created by Dan Harmon and James Siciliano, both executive producers of Rick and Morty, the show also features cast members Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Jim Rash (Community). Harmon and Siciliano described President Curtis as one of their favorite characters and promise a “wild sci-fi ride” from his perspective.
Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen emphasized that while the show is part of the Rick and Morty multiverse, it stands alone as an entertaining series with a strong lead character.
The announcement came during the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con at the Rick and Morty panel, where Keith David made a surprise appearance. No official release date has been announced yet.
President Curtis promises to expand the Rick and Morty universe with comedy, adventure, and the unique charm of its new presidential lead.
