‘XO, Kitty’ Season 3 Completes Filming in Seoul, New Faces Join Cast

Netflix’s hit series XO, Kitty has finished filming its third season in Seoul, South Korea. The streamer revealed new cast members, the promotion of a recurring actor to series regular, and a change in the showrunner role.

New additions include Sule Thelwell (Saint X), Soy Kim (Like a French Film), and Christine Hwang (Law and Order: SVU). Meanwhile, Hojo Shin, who plays Jiwon, has been promoted to a regular cast member. Valentina Garza takes over as showrunner for Season 3, replacing Jessica O’Toole, who led Season 2.

The showrunner change was unexpected, as O’Toole had been involved in early Season 3 development and was featured in the renewal announcement in February.

Garza, previously a writer on Seasons 2 and 3 and author of the Season 2 finale, stepped into the role in spring, shortly before or during the start of filming in May.

Sule Thelwell joins as a series regular playing Marius, a character with ties to Q (Anthony Keyvan). Soy Kim and Christine Hwang will recur as Yisoo and Gigi respectively.

Returning cast members include fan favorites such as Anna Cathcart (Kitty Song Covey), Minyeong Choi (Dae), Gia Kim (Yuri), and Sang Heon Lee (Min Ho), among others.

Season 2 ended with Kitty hopeful about a potential relationship with Min Ho after he confessed his feelings, while she had recently ended things with Dae. The show explores Kitty’s complicated love life and experiences studying abroad.

Season 3 was officially renewed on Valentine’s Day 2025, roughly a month after Season 2’s release on Netflix.
