Adidas Launches Star-Studded Superstar Campaign with JENNIE, GloRilla and Missy Elliott

Adidas has unveiled a new campaign for its iconic Superstar II shoe featuring musicians Missy Elliott, GloRilla, BLACKPINK’s JENNIE and Teezo Touchdown, with narration by actor Samuel L. Jackson.

The black-and-white campaign celebrates the cultural legacy of the Superstar sneaker through a two-part film directed by photographer Thibaut Grevet. The first chapter, titled “Pyramids,” shows Jackson comparing the shoe’s lasting impact to ancient Egyptian pyramids.

“4,000 years later, people still fly across the world to see them. Why? Because they were made to last,” Jackson says in the video, drawing parallels between the ancient structures and the sneaker’s enduring cultural significance.

The second chapter, “Clocks,” brings together the featured artists alongside athletes as representatives of music, basketball and street culture. Adidas described the campaign concept as “when icons wear icons, culture moves.”

Annie Barrett, vice president of marketing at Adidas Originals, said the campaign spotlights “a new generation of Originals who are building what’s next, unapologetically.” She described the Superstar as “more than just a sneaker” but “a symbol of originality and a spark for cultural change.”

The Superstar II is returning in two classic black-and-white colorways, priced at $100. The updated version features enhanced padding in the tongue and collar while maintaining the timeless design that helped define streetwear in the 1990s.

The campaign also promotes the classic Firebird tracksuit, which Jackson wears in the promotional video.
