Nicki Minaj stirred up rumors of tension with Beyoncé during a recent live rant on Stationhead. While speaking to her listeners, Minaj said playing a song does not mean she is on good terms with the artist behind it—especially if she’s featured on the track. Sometimes, she explained, she simply enjoys hearing her own verse.

“Any time I’m playing some music, it doesn’t mean that I rock with the person or whatever. Like, I really want y’all to know this,” Minaj said, laughing. “Sometimes Onika just want to hear Onika. You feel me? Like I just might want to hear the Onika verse that was on a particular song.”

She added, “That don’t mean I fck with nobody. Y’all know who I fck with, y’all know who I don’t f*ck with … ’Cause one thing about the Barbz, they be so on point.”

Despite this disclaimer, Minaj played both of her collaborations with Beyoncé—“Flawless (Remix)” and “Feeling Myself”—during the same night. This sparked speculation that there might be some underlying conflict between the two stars, though nothing has been confirmed.

Nicki Minaj has recently been vocal about Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z, fueling further rumors. This is not the first time Minaj has been accused of throwing shade at Beyoncé. In September last year, fans suspected a diss from a vague tweet, but Minaj denied the claims on Instagram.
