Red Dead Redemption Live-Action Fan Casting Heats Up With Divided Opinions

Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar Games)

Fans are buzzing about the idea of a live-action Red Dead Redemption series and have plenty of opinions on who should play the iconic roles—even though no official adaptation is in the works yet.

Discussion on Reddit has seen plenty of popular names suggested. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a favorite for the role of Dutch, with many agreeing he fits the part. When it comes to John Marston, some fans are glad to see Norman Reedus isn’t the leading choice for the role. However, others suggest Reedus could work well as Colm.

Arthur Morgan remains the center of the debate, with Jensen Ackles and Anson Mount both mentioned as fan favorites. “Jensen is perfect for Arthur,” one user commented, while another thought Anson Mount could step into cowboy boots just as smoothly.

Some fans wonder if unknown actors could take on the major roles, or if a studio would go for big stars to draw more attention. For now, the debate is only hypothetical, as there’s no confirmation from Rockstar Games or any networks about a TV series in development.

Still, as more video games get adapted for TV, many feel a Red Dead Redemption series is only a matter of time. HBO, are you listening?
