Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch remake has just passed a major milestone at the U.S. box office, overtaking the beloved 2013 hit Frozen with a current total of $401.1 million.
The film earned $1.1 million on its sixth Monday in theaters across 2,900 locations, pushing it past Frozen‘s domestic total of $400.9 million. This makes Lilo & Stitch the #52 highest-grossing film ever in the United States.
Though Lilo & Stitch still trails Frozen in global box office numbers — Frozen ended with nearly $1.3 billion worldwide, while Lilo & Stitch stands at $948 million — its domestic performance remains a standout, especially for a live-action remake.
On Track for Top 50
The remake is now just $3.4 million away from entering the Top 50 highest-grossing U.S. films of all time. It needs to surpass Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle to claim that spot — a goal it is likely to achieve by this coming weekend.

The original Lilo & Stitch debuted in 2002 and grossed $245 million worldwide on an $80 million budget. While successful, its numbers are far below the remake’s current performance, showing just how far the franchise has come.
