A ranch owner in Texas recently revealed how he almost faced a lawsuit for naming one of his llamas after the famous rapper Kendrick Lamar.
Ronnie Semler, a California-born farm owner now living in Texas, shares that he and his children named several animals on their ranch after celebrities.
Among the llamas, they had names like Tony Llama, Barack Ollama, and Kendrick Llama. They chose these names just for fun and to entertain visitors.
However, things took a serious turn when Kendrick Lamar’s legal team contacted Semler. They warned him to change the llama’s name or face a lawsuit. Semler admits he didn’t know who Kendrick Lamar was at the time but agreed to rename the animal.
After Kendrick Lamar’s recent Super Bowl performance, Semler says he now understands why the rapper took the issue seriously.
Besides llamas, Semler’s ranch also features cows named after famous people such as Leonardo DiCowprio and Hugh Hefner.
Kendrick Lamar’s team has not yet commented on the story.
