Lana Del Rey Transforms Cardiff Stadium into Southern Paradise

Lana Del Rey transformed Cardiff’s Principality Stadium into a Southern wonderland for her first-ever stadium tour on June 23, 2025. The singer proved that her intimate style of music can work beautifully in large venues.

The innovative stage design featured a modest house with a porch swing and white picket fence, complete with a flower-filled moat. Dancers used the entire set as their playground, moving gracefully between the rooftop, branches, and lamppost props.

Del Rey previewed several songs from her upcoming tenth album, including the emotional opener “Stars Fell On Alabama.” During this performance, she briefly left the stage to share a moment with her partner, Jeremy Dufrene, telling the audience they were “happy tears.”

The show’s highlight came during “Quiet In The South,” where theatrical effects transformed the stage into a dramatic scene with lighting and smoke effects. Del Rey also incorporated innovative technology, using holograms and digital versions of herself throughout the performance.

The concert concluded with an impromptu a cappella version of “Salvatore,” showcasing Del Rey’s ability to create intimate moments even in a massive venue. The performance proved that Del Rey can command a stadium while staying true to her artistic vision.

The setlist balanced new material with fan favorites like “Video Games,” “Born to Die,” and “Young and Beautiful,” demonstrating why Del Rey has successfully made the leap to stadium performances.
