DJ Akademiks Calls Out Pusha T for Using Kendrick Lamar Leak as Publicity Stunt

DJ Akademiks believes Clipse intentionally leaked Kendrick Lamar’s verse from their upcoming album “Let God Sort Em Out.” The verse surfaced online after a private listening party in Paris, creating major buzz for the July 11 album release.

In a recent livestream, Akademiks accused Pusha T of orchestrating the leak to build hype. He criticized how Clipse has promoted the album, pointing to Pusha T’s recent attacks on Travis Scott in a GQ interview where he called his former labelmate disloyal.

The leaked song “Chains & Whips” features Kendrick Lamar, which led to Clipse leaving Def Jam records. Pusha T said the label didn’t like two of Drake’s biggest rivals working together on one track. UMG, which owns Def Jam, has been connected to the ongoing Kendrick-Drake feud.

While Akademiks praised Kendrick’s skills, he admitted he mainly wanted to hear potential Drake disses. He said he would rather hear Lamar “in his prime” than focus on bars aimed at Drake.

Akademiks blamed Pusha T for using drama to promote the album. He advised Travis Scott to ignore Pusha’s comments and not respond, claiming Pusha is only trying to use him for attention and promotion.

The controversy adds more attention to an already highly anticipated album release.
