Brittany Renner has spoken openly about her recent split from rapper Kevin Gates, confirming the end of their marriage after just 52 days. She also addressed questions about her decision to remove her hijab.
Renner shared a video on Instagram showing herself without the hijab, adding the caption, “I’m not interested in shrinking myself to fit in anywhere.” She explained that her choices are her own and that she accepts whatever comes with them. “It’s still Alhamdulillah for everything,” she wrote, showing gratitude despite the personal changes.
The update comes after Renner revealed that she and Kevin Gates got married on April 6 and divorced on May 28. She explained that Islamic law includes a 90-day waiting period after divorce to check for pregnancy and to allow for possible reconciliation.
Renner said that despite the short marriage, she doesn’t regret her decisions. “I followed my heart,” she shared during an interview with Real 92.3 LA. She also said that her conversion to Islam earlier this year has helped her handle life’s challenges better.
