Fairphone 6 Coming Soon with Replaceable Battery and Modern Look

The Fairphone 6 is getting ready for launch, and new leaked images reveal a fresh design and more repair-friendly features. According to a report from WinFuture, the phone will officially launch on June 25 with a price of €549 (about $630).

Fairphone has changed its design this year, moving away from curved backs to a flatter, more modern look. The phone will have visible screws on the back panel, making it easy for users to open and replace parts. Buyers can also mix and match different colored back panels for a two-tone style.

The Fairphone 6 will come in black, white, and a standout “Forest Green” color, featuring a 6.31-inch display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage.

One of the key highlights is its removable 4,415mAh battery, which supports 33W fast charging. Users will need to unscrew the back to remove the battery, but it won’t be glued down. Other replaceable parts include the cameras — a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP front camera — along with the speaker and USB-C port.

However, the focus on repairability does reduce water protection. The Fairphone 6 is rated IP55, meaning it’s resistant to dust and light rain but not fully waterproof.

A mysterious slider switch on the phone has also caught attention, but its purpose is still unknown. More details are expected at the official launch.

With its focus on repairable design and fair production, the Fairphone 6 continues the brand’s commitment to sustainability, offering users more control over their device’s lifespan.
