FiveM and RedM Get Major Improvements in New May 2025 Update

Rockstar Games’ popular modding platform, FiveM, received a significant update in May 2025. The update, managed by the Cfx.re team and community contributors, brings many improvements to both FiveM and RedM.

One of the biggest changes is a major performance boost. According to Cfx.re, players can experience up to a 100% increase in FPS when near many Freemode Peds. This means smoother gameplay, especially on busy servers, and helps gamers with older or CPU-limited hardware.

However, those with lower-end GPUs might not see as much improvement. The update also reduces server hitches, making the overall experience more stable.

The update adds a new feature to GTA 5 for adjusting wet cloth physics, letting players change how tightly wet clothes stick to characters. The maximum number of particle effects running at once has also increased to 256, making the game look more detailed and realistic.

Stability fixes are another highlight. Many crashes, especially those related to the GTA Online: Agents of Sabotage content, have been resolved.

RedM, the Red Dead Redemption 2 version of the platform, got new features too. Players can now use custom loading screens by uploading their own images. RedM also gained the ability to detect the current screen aspect ratio, improving compatibility and visuals.

This update makes FiveM and RedM smoother and more immersive for players, especially those on older hardware or in crowded game worlds.
