The confusion started when Kanye’s chief financial officer, Hussain Lalani, used the name “Ye Ye” in some official documents.
This made people think that the rapper had changed his name again. But Kanye’s team said that “Ye Ye” is not his real name.
They explained that the name appeared because of an online form that needed both a first and last name, so “Ye Ye” was just a mistake.
Kanye West first shortened his name to Ye in 2018. He said that “Ye” means “you” in the Bible and reflects everyone’s good and bad sides. He also released an album called Ye that year.
Despite the confusion, Kanye still uses his birth name on social media. He often posts updates and comments about his ongoing custody battle with Kim Kardashian under the name Kanye West.
