YouTube Premium Prices Rise in Australia and Europe — Is the US Next?

YouTube Premium has raised the price of its Family Plan in Australia. The monthly cost has gone up from AUD 33 to AUD 40, a 21% increase. In U.S. dollars, that’s about $26 per month. This change starts with users’ next billing cycle.

So far, this price hike only affects the Family Plan. The Individual, Student, and Lite plans remain the same for now.

The company said in emails to users that the increase is to support “great service and features.”

It’s not just Australia seeing higher prices. The Family Plan price in France has also increased, now costing €29.99 a month, up from €25.99. This suggests that more countries might see similar increases soon.

There’s no official word yet on whether the U.S. will face the same price hike, but the trend in multiple regions could be a sign of what’s coming.

For now, if you use the Family Plan, keep an eye on your next bill. More regions could soon see the same rise in prices.
