Sony Offers MindsEye PS5 Refunds After Poor Launch and Apology from Devs

Sony is now offering refunds for MindsEye on PS5 after players complained about serious performance issues.

The game, released on June 10, has been criticized for frequent crashes, poor frame rates, and unpolished gameplay—even on the PS5 Pro.

Since Sony rarely approves refunds unless a game is truly broken, this move shows just how bad the launch has been.

Developer Build A Rocket Boy has publicly apologized, admitting that the game hasn’t met expectations.

They promised that fixing the game’s performance is now their top priority. A first patch for PC is planned for the end of the week, with console fixes coming soon after.

MindsEye was also not sent to media outlets for early review, which raised red flags before launch. Now that reviews are out, they’re mostly negative.

One review even called it a “broken, boring mess.” Players who bought the game early can now get their money back while the developers work on updates.
