The Nintendo Switch 2 will officially go on sale in the US on June 5, 2025. If you didn’t secure a pre-order, you still have a chance to grab one—if you know where to look.
Retailers with Launch Day Stock
GameStop and Best Buy will host midnight launch events. Both stores say they will have limited stock available in-store when doors open on June 5.
Walmart will sell the console online starting at midnight and in physical stores the same day. Some super-centers in the Pacific, Mountain, Hawaii, and Alaska regions will also open at midnight for in-person sales.
Target will not have midnight events, but in-store sales start on June 5. Online restocks will follow on the morning of June 6, while supplies last.
Costco will offer a Mario Kart World bundle with a 12-month Switch Online membership on June 5. It’s unclear if physical stores will have regular consoles in stock. A Costco membership is required to shop there.
Amazon has no listings or stock for the Nintendo Switch 2 as of now. The retailer also did not offer pre-orders.
Games and Accessories
Nintendo is releasing several new games and accessories with the console. Titles like Mario Kart World and a Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be available on June 5.
The game Donkey Kong Bananza is coming in mid-July, but it can be pre-ordered now for early access when it ships.
If you’re hoping to buy the Switch 2, be ready early, and check with your local stores for exact opening times. Stock is expected to be limited.
