With just a week to go until Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 9, new details suggest the tech giant will limit its AI-related announcements this year.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will shift focus away from AI after previous delays in rolling out its Apple Intelligence features.

At WWDC 25, Apple is expected to introduce iOS 26, which will include a new battery power management mode, an upgraded Translate app with Siri and AirPods integration, and a visionOS-inspired visual overhaul — said to be one of the biggest design updates in iOS history.

Some AI features will still appear in Safari and Photos, but more advanced tools like a new Siri and enhanced Shortcuts app are not ready for release.

Apple will also reportedly open its on-device Apple Foundation Models to third-party developers, supporting up to 3 billion parameters for use in text summarization and auto-correct features.

On the macOS front, the upcoming macOS 26 will be named “Tahoe”, continuing Apple’s tradition of California-themed names. It too will adopt a new visionOS-style design.

Another major announcement expected is a new centralized gaming app that will replace Apple Game Center. This cross-platform app — coming to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS — will serve as a hub for games, including leaderboards and player communication features.

Despite limited AI news, Apple is still preparing several noteworthy updates across its platforms, focusing on visual improvements, user features, and developer tools.
