Half-Life 2 Meets Team Fortress 2 in Legendary Mod Launching on Steam

If you’ve played Half-Life 2 many times, now there’s a brand-new way to enjoy it. A legendary mod called Lambda Fortress is finally coming to Steam, and it completely changes the game.

Created by a team of about 30 developers at Coaxion, this mod lets you play Half-Life 2 in co-op, not just with one friend, but with up to 9 or 10 players.

Instead of playing as Gordon Freeman, you and your team play as the characters from Team Fortress 2 — like the Heavy, Spy, Scout, or Soldier — each with their own weapons and gear.

You can even use your own TF2 inventory, bringing your customized characters into the world of City 17, Ravenholm, and beyond. This means facing Combine soldiers, antlions, and even Striders with your favorite loadouts.

While Lambda Fortress has been available on third-party platforms for years, this marks its first official Steam release. The Steam version will include new weapons, custom game modes, and support for more Source engine campaigns in the future.

There’s no confirmed release date yet, but it’s clear that Half-Life 2 fans are in for a fresh and fun experience with this mod.

If you’re interested, you can wishlist Lambda Fortress on Steam now and get ready to relive Half-Life 2 like never before — with your whole TF2 squad.
