‘Luther’ Hits 22 Weeks at No. 1—Ties Kendrick’s Own Record

Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s hit song “Luther” has tied the all-time record for the most weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. It has now spent 22 weeks at the top, matching the record held by another Kendrick song, Not Like Us.”

“Not Like Us” first ruled the chart during Kendrick’s battle with Drake and stayed at No. 1 for 21 weeks in 2024. It later returned for a 22nd week after Kendrick performed it at the Super Bowl LIX halftime show.

This is also a big moment for SZA. Before “Not Like Us,” her hit “Kill Bill” held the record with 21 weeks at No. 1 in 2022–2023.

In its 22nd week, “Luther” earned:

  • 16.7 million streams in the U.S.
  • 2,000 downloads sold
  • 60.5 million radio audience impressions

The song also continues at No. 1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart for a 22nd week. That puts it second on that chart’s all-time list, behind only “Not Like Us,” which led for 26 weeks.

However, “Luther” dropped from the top of the Billboard Hot 100, replaced by Morgan Wallen and Tate McRae’s “What I Want.” “Luther” still held the No. 1 spot there for 13 weeks, the longest run ever for both Kendrick Lamar and SZA on that chart.
