Kid Cudi at Diddy Trial

Lawyers for Sean “Diddy” Combs are asking the court to remove parts of rapper Kid Cudi’s testimony, calling it “highly improper.”

Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, testified last week in Combs’ ongoing federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial. He spoke about his past romantic relationship with Casandra “Cassie” Ventura Fine, a key witness in the case and Combs’ former partner.

Mescudi told the court that during his time with Ventura Fine, Combs allegedly broke into his home and was involved in a car explosion that destroyed Mescudi’s Porsche.

During questioning, Kid Cudi said he believed Combs was lying when he denied any knowledge of the explosion.

On May 26, Combs’ lawyers filed a motion to remove that statement from the record. They said the comment was “speculation” and could unfairly influence the jury.

Combs is facing serious federal charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, arson, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The trial resumes on May 27. It is expected to reveal more details about Combs’ alleged abuse, threats, and violent behavior, as prosecutors build their case. Meanwhile, his legal team argues that his actions were consensual and mutual, denying all claims of criminal conduct.
