Kanye West has confirmed he’s filming a new music video for his song “Alive,” while tensions continue to rise between him and Playboi Carti.
West took to Instagram on Sunday to share an update with fans, posting: “Heading to Utah to shoot the video,” alongside a fresh snippet of the track. Fans flooded the comments with support, showing excitement for the visual and West’s rumored new album. DJ Akademiks also commented, saying he would meet West in Utah.
However, the rollout comes amid growing drama between West and Carti. After Kanye first previewed “Alive,” Carti accused him of stealing the track and uploaded his own version featuring NBA YoungBoy. In a since-deleted post, Carti wrote, “DIS MY SONG LIL BRA @ye.”
The fallout follows a breakdown in their working relationship. While the two previously collaborated, West publicly accused Carti of going behind his back to contact Kim Kardashian about featuring their daughter, North West, on a song—just two days after leaving West off his album Music.
West shared multiple posts criticizing Carti, saying, “HOW IT LOOK FOR ME TO GET LEFT OFF THE ALBUM AND THEN HE ASK KIM TO HAVE VOCALS FROM MY DAUGHTER.” He also dragged Iggy Azalea into the drama, mentioning her son with Carti: “HEY IGGY AZALEA I NEED TO GET ONYX VOCALS ON MY SONG THAT’S MY NEPHEW.”
Carti replied simply on X (formerly Twitter): “YE STFU.”
As Kanye gears up for the “Alive” music video shoot, fans are watching closely to see how the feud—and the music—will unfold.
