Fans of One-Punch Man will have to wait a little longer to see the next chapter in Saitama’s saga. The manga has announced a surprise hiatus, delaying the next chapter’s release until Thursday, July 17, 2025.
The news comes directly from artist Yusuke Murata, who cited “various circumstances” as the reason for the delay. While he didn’t elaborate, speculation points to the ongoing redraws that have sparked backlash among readers.
Murata has been revisiting and reworking previous chapters to meet his personal standards of perfection—a process some fans support but many criticize for slowing progress on new content.
This delay lands at a particularly intense moment in the story, with Saitama and the heroes facing off against the powerful Empty Void. It’s unclear whether the next chapter will pick up that battle or turn out to be another redraw, possibly from the earlier Ninja Arc.
The frustration is understandable. Many readers are eager for fresh story developments, not revised versions of older chapters. Still, One-Punch Man remains one of the most artistically polished series in manga, and Murata’s perfectionism, while time-consuming, is part of that reputation.
While the manga takes a break, fans can still follow Saitama’s story through the original webcomic by creator ONE, which continues beyond the manga and anime. However, ONE’s minimalist art style is a stark contrast to Murata’s detailed panels.
On a more positive note, Season 3 of the anime is officially set to return this October, ending its long hiatus. Although it likely won’t cover the latest manga arc just yet, it will bring back the action-packed conflict with the Monster Association, setting the stage for what could be one of fall 2025’s biggest anime premieres.
