At the Cannes Film Festival 2025, the drama Die My Love has landed a major distribution deal with Mubi. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson and is directed by Lynne Ramsay.

The deal is worth about $23 to $24 million and includes rights for North America, Latin America, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Benelux, Turkey, India, Australia, and New Zealand.

Mubi will release the film widely in theaters across the United States, with a commitment to show it on 1,500 screens for 45 days. The film tells the story of a woman’s mental breakdown from post-natal depression after moving to rural America. Critics have praised Jennifer Lawrence’s performance, with some predicting she may earn her fifth Oscar nomination for this role.

Alongside Lawrence and Pattinson, the cast features LaKeith Stanfield, Sissy Spacek, and Nick Nolte. The film is based on a 2017 novel by Ariana Harwicz and is produced by Lynne Ramsay, Jennifer Lawrence’s production company Excellent Cadaver, Martin Scorsese, and others. Industry insiders see Die My Love as a strong awards contender this season.

The deal was negotiated by CAA Media Finance and 193, a new sales company. Mubi CEO Jason Ropell said their creative vision and release strategy helped them win the deal over competitors like Apple and Neon.

This purchase strengthens Mubi’s growing role at Cannes, where the company now has four films in the competition lineup.
