Nicolas Cage’s live-action debut as Spider-Man Noir is finally here—and it’s everything fans hoped for. Amazon MGM Studios has released the first official image of Cage in character, giving fans a glimpse of the gritty, black-and-white world of Spider-Noir.
Known for voicing the animated version of Spider-Man Noir in the Spider-Verse films, Cage now steps into the trench coat and mask for a full live-action series. In the newly released still, he strikes a classic Spider-Man pose, shrouded in shadows and smoke, all captured in stylized black and white. The visual pays homage to both the comic origins and classic noir cinema, setting the tone for what’s to come.
What Is Spider-Noir About?
The upcoming series, created by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, is based on Marvel’s Spider-Man Noir comic line. It reimagines Spider-Man in 1930s New York, where Cage plays an older, grizzled version of Peter Parker who now works as a private investigator in a world of mob bosses, corruption, and crime.
The show is being described as a true noir series, using long shadows, stylized filters, and vintage filming techniques to recreate the classic black-and-white aesthetic. According to cast member Lukas Haas, “We filmed it in—I think it may come out in both black and white and color… but it looked very, very authentic. They did a beautiful job with the filters, making it look like genuine old 1930s film.”
